Music Sharing Scare

It would seem that some of the major record labels in the USA are trying to get a court order for Internet Service Providers to name their customers who share music on the Internet.

This is the first such case in North America, possibly the world, where record labels are trying to force an Internet company to identify a subscriber.

Should the judge rule in favour of the industry, the names hundreds or thousands of people who share their music files could be released.! SOURCE

This is a scare to all of us who have participated in the music sharing age. Let’s face it, almost everyone has done and or at least knows someone who shares music on the Internet.

I am not sure if they want the names of the people for the purpose of prosecution or for marketing benefits.

Personally, I am sure the record labels would benefit more from the marketing data. Why wouldn’t they? Do you really think that our justice system (or any other countries) is large enough to prosecute all the music sharing cases?

It is more likely that they can collect what types of music are shared the greatest on the Internet and find a way to capitalize on that. Or conversely, they will deal more in music that is not shared. Whatever they believe in!

Society is already stated through practise that Internet music sharing is tolerated. Why would it do a 180 degree turn?

Nirvana Comeback

Early in 1994, Kurt Cobain recorded some music with the rest of the members of Nirvana that was to be released later on that year.

The problem is, Kurt shot himself to end his life in a tragic gunshot second and destroyed the likes of Nirvana forever.

Kurt left behind his wife and the rest of the members of the band to fight over the crumbs of Nirvana’s success and unreleased music. There were a couple small court battles, but basically nothing!

Now they have decided to agree on a settlement of compensation and release the Nirvana music that has been sitting on the backburner for 8 - 9 years. The new Nirvana single You Know You’re Right! hit the radio and is an instant success.

DOES ANY OF THIS SEEM LIKE BULLSHIT TO ANYONE ELSE?

9 fucking years without agreeing on compensation. Were they not worried about it enough to just have a couple of small court battles?

MY THEORY:

The original discussions were not easy going, but after 1 year they were all on the same page. That being Courtney, Dave and the bass guitarist (been so long I forgot his name).

After 1 year they all had their own new bands and rode off some of the success of Nirvana. It was not a good time to release more Nirvana tracks as the drama was fresh in the public eye and the limelight could not be shifted towards their new bands!!.so why not WAIT!

All of their careers were slowly coming down (some were crashing), but they all are about to release new albums!!..

HMM!!.SEEMS LIKE A GOOD TIME TO TRY AND RIDE THE NIRVANA TRAIN AGAIN

Just agreed to release it my ass. They wanted insurance to prolong their careers. Great business move. Public suicide pissing off the fans if they were caught.

Who knows. Maybe I am wrong.

FAMILY is all that MATTERS!

It is not a new concept, but one that deserves a little more attention.

FAMILY is all that MATTERS!

When times get tough and you need someone to turn to, you go to your CLOSE FRIENDS or FAMILY! I previously made the argument before that your close friends are FAMILY and I believe this still!!!!..

I recently heard the following for classifying friends:

1) REASON - The only reason that you are friends are because you have usually one thing in common and nothing more!!!!.once that ONE THING is gone, more than likely so is the friendship!

2) SEASON - You are friends over a period of time. This is usually because of something such as a job, a relationship, summer or anything that can possibly have an ending to it! Once it ends!!!!so does the friendship most of the time!

3) LIFETIME - These are the friends that you have until the day that you or they die! They stick with you through THICK and THIN; come HELL or HIGH WATER!! no matter what!

I would also then make the argument that FAMILY as well as the TRUE FRIENDS both fall into the LIFETIME catagory!

Stay close to the LIFETIME individuals because they are the ones that will help you when you need it, love you all the time and never judge you!
