Bad Day For Blogs

I went to Ruzz’s site today and found myself waiting for his final post. Ruzz has had some trouble in the past with people polluting his site with thoughtless and harmful comments and has had enough. He intends to take his blog offline at the current address and move it to an unknown address soon.

Ruzz’s site is one of my favorite blogs to read along side with Pet Rock Star, The Doctor, The Captain and Pixelkitty. He will be missed greatly by his loyal readers.

It is crazy that anyone would want to try and destroy a blog with negative feedback. The Doctor actually shut comments off his site because of it. The Captain had a post about this very issue found here. I was forced to eliminate my personal blog of all personal content, leaving only my guitar tabs and song lyrics. It is just sad.

Why would anyone want to steal the very air from someone? That is what blogging is to some people; air. It has become a way of personal expression and healing for many individuals on the internet. The internet in itself allows the common woman and man to reach great amounts of people.

Now I understand that there is critisism; constructive and destructive. Personally I have no problem taking the contructive kind. The thoughts that are well thought out and on topic. Not personal attacks and useless comments.

I wish that the blogging tools would take into account the URL’s along with the IP’s in blocking efforts. Then the communities of bloggers could share their lists publically with others warning them of the users that cause chaos. Maybe this is too much censorship, but maybe this is just protection of personal property.

I have so much more to say, but would like to entertain some comments on the issue before starting part 2.

Non-Alcoholic Xmas?

It is the time of year for Christmas parties. I am actually attending one tonight. This one is a weird one though. Let me explain.

This year my wife’s co-workers voted on whether or not to allow children to attend their staff party. Much to my surprise, the majority voted for children to attend. While I have nothing against children, this perplexes me to no end.

I always thought that a staff party was for the staff only. There will be alcohol at this party and several of those attending will be consuming it. This is a common occurance at staff parties. Why the children then?

In my experience, 10% of people attending staff parties drink too much alcohol and make asses of themselves (minimum %.) Why then would we expose our children of our co-workers to this?

Do the staff parties you attend with alcohol allow children attending? This will be a first for me. I know that anyone drinking will leave early and find another party to attend. It breaks up the group. It seems sad to me.

So the only question I must ask myself is Should I drink tonight?!

History often proves that answer to be yes. Present circumstances makes me have to think through it more. I am still shocked I have to make this decision.

Site Affirmation

The world today has several events that push and pull us directions. Some people believe that what happens to us in our lives is just the luck of the draw as we make our own destiny’s. This may be true.

Still others believe the world has a fate for everyone that is pre-determined before we are born and we live that life. This also may be true.

I believe the world has a mix of both elements. The world presents us with decisions on a regular basis that make us chose a direction. It may be possible that our decision either way is somewhat pre-determined, but the choice is in our control.

This site has the goal of discussing all aspects of life from various authors not withstanding anything. Some of the ideas presented here will not be important to anyone, yet others may hit home. If you find something you would like to add to any discussions, please do. Good or bad, we don’t really care. I just ask that you use well thought out ideas and stay away from just negative comments without reasoning.

So let’s get this going. Life is waiting for us to discuss it!
