Bad Day For Blogs
I went to Ruzz’s site today and found myself waiting for his final post. Ruzz has had some trouble in the past with people polluting his site with thoughtless and harmful comments and has had enough. He intends to take his blog offline at the current address and move it to an unknown address soon.
Ruzz’s site is one of my favorite blogs to read along side with Pet Rock Star, The Doctor, The Captain and Pixelkitty. He will be missed greatly by his loyal readers.
It is crazy that anyone would want to try and destroy a blog with negative feedback. The Doctor actually shut comments off his site because of it. The Captain had a post about this very issue found here. I was forced to eliminate my personal blog of all personal content, leaving only my guitar tabs and song lyrics. It is just sad.
Why would anyone want to steal the very air from someone? That is what blogging is to some people; air. It has become a way of personal expression and healing for many individuals on the internet. The internet in itself allows the common woman and man to reach great amounts of people.
Now I understand that there is critisism; constructive and destructive. Personally I have no problem taking the contructive kind. The thoughts that are well thought out and on topic. Not personal attacks and useless comments.
I wish that the blogging tools would take into account the URL’s along with the IP’s in blocking efforts. Then the communities of bloggers could share their lists publically with others warning them of the users that cause chaos. Maybe this is too much censorship, but maybe this is just protection of personal property.
I have so much more to say, but would like to entertain some comments on the issue before starting part 2.
