Goodbye Microsoft!

Whether or not it is a good idea or not, I have decided to move further over to the opensource world and deliver another devestating blow to Microsoft by dropping IE and Outlook Express. Instead, I have moved over to Firefox for the browser and Thunderbird for our mail. Both of these programs are from Mozilla!
As for the way things look, I found that a couple of my sites were not working correctly in other browsers and I fixed them! On the whole, things work better in this browser than in IE. I am much happier and even my admin page that I am posting this entry from works!!..it never worked in IE!
I have to find other free programs to use so I can drop other things as well that cost money!!..

I have come across the Microsoft office of free software in OpenOffice.org. It is just as good as Microsoft Office and is free. It reads and can be saved in .doc format. Why would I use Microsoft anymore? Goodbye Microsoft!

Silage Fire Again

It was Dad’s 61st birthday party last night. Dad and I spent the day out near High River drinking beer with some superpowers in the cattle industry (mainly packers) and then met the girls at The Keg for supper. We had a great meal and then went down to Kilkenny’s near Brentwood for a few drinks.
At 11:00pm we got the call that the silage pit was on fire again. We rushed back to Cochrane from Calgary and Tammy and I started to drive home. I got to the silage pit at 3:30am and Calvin had just left, but the main fire was out. I worked until around 5:00am and was tired!
I went back out at 10:30am this morning and assessed the damage. It is bad if we don’t get the wet silage from south of the gravel pit on it ASAP. I organized the silage run for Tuesday and will watch it close until then!!.

I have a big decision to make. Do I leave home and go to these concerts for free on the Coca-Cola stage Sunday in Calgary or stay home. Man is life one tough decision after another!!.
