Mags is finally getting settled into the house. He is getting bigger each and everyday and I am glad that I have had this opportunity to spend some time at home with him before returning to work! Tammy goes to the doctor on Monday to see if she is healing. I hope so!

Last night, Mommy and Daddy went to the hospital because my contractions were about 5-6 minutes apart. They were not sure if they should be going in yet, but Grandma Pat stressed that it was better to be late than sorry! We left Hughenden at 7:30pm and arrived in the hospital at 8:00pm.

They hooked Mommy up to the baby monitor and found my heart rate and the strength of the contractions. They were really starting to hurt Mommy! She asked to talk about the Ephideral for the pain with the doctor.

At 9:45pm, Dr. Brilz broke Mommy’s water and she had enough for 2 people in there. I was starting to shrink and make my way down toward the birth canel. Dr. Brilz figured that I would be born around 2:00am, which would mean that Mommy would lose on the date for the baby pool.

Daddy started phoning the family at 10:00pm and everyone was so excited! They all wanted a phone call when I arrived, regardless of time. Daddy asked Grandma Pat to come to the hospital so that she would be by Mommy when I arrived as well. She and Daddy only.

The Dr. with the drugs came to give Mommy her Ephideral. He gave Mommy such a high dosage that she couldn’t even feel me coming. The nurses were not too happy about this, so they dropped the dosage so that Mommy could feel the contractions.

Auntie Mandy and Uncle Jordan came in to visit around 11pm. They stayed and gave some support to Mommy and Daddy. They were really grateful, but they were tired so they went home around 12:30am.

It was at 4:00am that I went into active labour. That is when Mommy was 4 CM dialated. Mommy was in real pain because the nurse dropped her drug dosage so low that the pain was gaining on the small increases that she was giving to cover the extra pain. The Dr. with the drugs came in and told the nurse that she wasn’t giving enough, so he gave Mommy loads of drugs more!

The nurse thought that I was ready to go at 6:30am, so she called Dr. Brilz. She came in and checked Mommy and said that instead of 10 CM, she was only 6 CM, so I wouldn’t come for awhile. Mommy and Daddy were a little upset since they hadn’t slept at all. Grandma Pat had slept for about 6 hours!!..

Daddy crashed about 8am and woke up around 9am, a little more refreshed. He made his way into the labour room and found that Grandpa Dave had arrived and was waiting around with Mommy and Grandma. At around 12:30pm, Grandpa had to leave to work on his Hay crop, as he was told that I wouldn’t arrive for awhile!!.

At 12:45pm, Dr. Brilz came to check Mommy to see if she was ready to let me come out. She was, and Mommy was told to start pushing! Mommy forgot to ask for some freezing, so the pain was incredible for her as the Ephideral wasn’t affecting my birth passage!!.

After some large pushing sessions in pain, Mommy snapping on a nurse and some real emotional times for Daddy and Grandma Pat, I came out at 1:23pm into Dr. Brilz’s arms. She put me up on Mommy to see and Daddy cut my cord from Mommy.

The nurse’s took me over and cleaned me up and made me cry a little to show that I was OK. I was fine and finally the nurse let Daddy hold me in his arms. After Mommy was put back together, she was allowed to hold me and start my feeding!

Look out world, MAGUIRE ALEXANDER TRENTON ADAMS has arrived!
