Here is my version of “Closure” by Chevelle. It was recorded on a Fender Stratocaster and then distorted CRAZY vocals overtop to make it sound really weird. This was on purpose, so don’t get me wrong!

Rockstar: Supernova

I have to say that I am really digging MSNs new show Rockstar Supernova. I watched last year when they did Rockstar INXS and I was so excited about it because I could not believe the level of talent on the show. That is what makes this year so great as well, the ability and talent of all the people on the show.

For those of you that have not yet seen the show, let me lay it out for you. The show has one basis premise…to find a new lead singer for the band Supernova. Last year, INXS picked JD Fortune from Toronto after week in and week out competitions playing songs with a house band in from of them. This is what Supernova is about.

Supernova has Tommy Lee which most of you know was the drummer for Motley Crue and all you know was with Pamela Anderson for awhile and liked to make home movies…tough guy to forget! Gilby Clarke was one for me that I should have known, but I had to look it up. He did a stint with Guns ‘N Roses for awhile. The last but not least member is Jason Newsted, the basist for a little known band…maybe you have heard of them, Metallica. Pretty good lineup!

I am actually scared to say who I think will win after the American Idol scandel with Chris being knocked off the show, so I will let you know my 3 favorite front runners who I believe will have the winner in it…..risky I know. Delana is a cool singer and much different than I am used to. I think I am biased, but I like Lucas from Toronto. As well, there is Magme from Iceland as he rocks.

Unlike American Idol, these are already trained professionals and good enough to already be short-listed for the show as potential “real life” lead singers for Supernova. The performances are all great and it rocks. I do not care who wins out of the last 10 left if you really want to know because they are all really great! Tune in!

Here is my version of “Acoustic #3″ by Goo Goo Dolls. It was recorded drunk with Dallas Grant on a Fender Stratocaster, looped and then vocals overtop. Recorded “many” times as beer doesn’t help…
