This is driving me mad. I changed the DNS on this puppy about 36 hours ago. I have talked to a couple buddies and they are resolving it fine. I cannot. I have flushed my DNS and tried on a couple different computers. So can you see it? Is it resolving correctly back to http://maguireadams.ca ?
I could use some help here because it is driving me insane….
My Name Is “Month End”

Not quite sure what I am getting at with that title? We always do monthly financial statements. That means we are constantly going over our information several times to make sure everything is ready to send to our accountants. Once the information is sent up to them, we work together to piece the “story” together and make sure everything is correct. This is done on a constant basis of phone calls, emails, fax, you name it……
I was excited that we finished off our July Month End awhile back and now looking at the date, August 31st, 2007, here we go again. I might has well change my name to “month end”. I’m not even an accountant and I see business numbers (my life) as if I was. It is a price to pay for a business. Without correct and timely information, your business will suffer. My 2 cents.
Facebook Info On Wordpress.com

I was reading a really wicked post from Collin about posting your facebook status on wordpress.com since the plugins out there and the typical facebook badges are not something that wordpress.com blogs can have.
Just found out after researching some more that the facebook badges are no longer just javascript, but also an image that updates itself to get the same effect. I have this badge called “signature badge” in my sidebar now. You might want to login and check it out yourself as you can determine what information you want in the badge as well! The link is at the bottom of your profile page called “Create A Profile Badge”. You want to choose the “image” and not the “javascript” one! It is really great Facebook did this as javascript (if slow) can crash a page and stop it from loading…..an image will not ![]()
Thanks to Collin for the first method and if you haven’t already, you might want to check out his blog! Great reading!
Technical Theme Difficulties

If you were viewing my site in the past couple of hours, you would have noticed that it was completely screwed up. I just enabled the Custom CSS upgrade for wordpress.com and have it to thank for my misery.
I really don’t understand why just by enabling it, it screws up your current design. It really should be ‘enabled’, but no formatting changes until you save the first CSS sheet. Just my two cents.
As well, I was playing around trying to get the magical Sandbox Themes to work for me and it was going to be more work to upload all the images, one by one and then adjust the CSS sheet to have the correct image URL for my uploaded files than to actually create my own theme.
I was looking around for all the “pre-made” CSS themes for wordpress.com and even with all my fancy searching was left unsatisfied. As far as I can tell, Sandbox themes are more for uploading to your own server and just ‘working’ when you enable it like any other theme. That is not the case with wordpress.com because you have to change the CSS to all the image URL’s that you uploaded. Too time consuming to use a theme that is not customized for me.
That being said, I don’t have enough time right now to sit down and create a new theme, so I just copied the URL paths for the Misty Theme and put those into the CSS editior alongside the URL for my custom header and presto! Back to the theme before enabling the CSS upgrade that has caused me a serious loss of time which was far from constructive.
Don’t get me wrong, the CSS upgrade is one of the best things you can have for wordpress.com, but I think that it would be “much better” if it wouldn’t mess up your site until you time to fix it just to get it back to what you had for a design before creating a new one! ! ! This must seem like babbling, but if you have ever used the Custom CSS before, you know what I mean.
More to come with my theme revamping as it arises…..
Facebook Apps Killing Me

I know that facebook has a great API that allows anyone to create a new application for Facebook. This has some tremendous possibilities to extend facebook to do some really amazing things! I am all for this!
What I do have a problem with is that there is not an option to stop all the bombardment of requests for you to add these applications because someone on your friend list did. No one is going to uncheck the users they don’t want the request to go to, so they just send it to everyone. It is really starting to get on my last nerve.
I use a handful of applications myself and make sure that I don’t invade my friends and family with requests to add the same application. It is the same as email spam. Unwanted and unsolicited. I have ignored more requests for applications in the month of August than the previous months combined. I can only imagine that September will be horrible.
Does anyone have a solution to turn those requests off? I have searched the net and found a bunch of other disgruntled users and groups, but nothing of significance to turn the app spam off.
As well, if you are a friend of mine and read this, please don’t send me another link to “Super Wall” or “Naughty Gifts” or whatever the next fad application is. I really am a simple guy with simple needs. In fact, I regular the applications page to find things that matter to me and don’t need a helping hand finding them.
I say “end the facebook application spam” please! Could someone commit an option box to the software and end our pain?
Thanks for listening!

No, I am not talking about some distant friend or relative, but rather the staple of getting our population into a state of obesity; the Big Mac from McDonald’s! ! !
