bbPress is “Officially” 1 Year Old Today!

I know that Matt had bbPress going since 2004, but of the official ‘releases’ are concerned, it was exactly 1 year ago today that bbPress 0.7.2 was released with nickname “bix”! I personally have been involved with bbPress from shortly after that release and love it as a forum software!

bbPress has come so far since the beginning and we have grown both in user and developer base! That is what is so encouraging with watching a software package grow as we move forward! The plugins and themes are also on the rise and I am really impressed with all the great people that make bbPress the software and the community that it is!

Of course, I have to thank _ck_ for telling me about this in the forums! Thanks!

I would say use bbPress if it is integrated with wordpress or wordpress MU and if you are talking about a standalone forum check out bbPress and the plugins available at http://bbpress.org/extend/ before making a decision. bbPress allows you to add the functionality you need off a basic core to extend it while phpbb3 is bloated off the start :)
