Aaron Lewis - “Black”

Growing up, we all find songs that mean everything to us at the time.    Sometimes if we are lucky we keep some of these songs with us as we grow up into our adult lives.     I know that I can say without much trouble that “Pearl Jam - 10″ would be in my top 3 albums of all-time for my listening enjoyment.   On that particular album, I loved all the songs but none as much as “Black”.    It is one of my favorite songs.

You can imagine how happy I was to come across the following video of “Aaron Lewis” from Staind covering “Black” and doing it to live performance perfection.   I thought I would share as listening to this song still gives me shivers down my spine.   Love it!

Soul Meets Body

I haven’t actually posted very often on this blog lately and really haven’t been doing much more than working. It did find time in the past couple days to learn a new song. This is my cover of “Soul Meets Body” by Death Cab for Cutie. Please take it easy on me since I haven’t played much in the past while This song was recorded just off my Macbook iSight with standard audio. Nothing fancy at all.

Wow Canadian Idol!

I never posted about this past week, but there were some amazing performances from the Canadian Idol stage.    They tried something different this season with the contestants being the musicians and having the group sing.   It gives a more natural talent feel and all of them were amazing.   I strongly suggest if you have some time you watch these videos!

These were the most entertaining to watch in many seasons of watching both American and Canadian Idol for me and hope that this format is continued into the future. Best results show yet!

It’s The Only One You’ve Got

Sometimes you run across the songs that define your generation, your situation or just your attention. The new album from 3 Doors Down is just amazing and the the best of those songs in my opinion is a song called “It’s The Only One You’ve Got” and frankly, I love the lyrics and the song. It is just amazing.

I just had to share this wondeful piece of work. What can I say? It is just a great song.

You hide behind your walls of ‘maybe nevers’ Forgetting that theres something more, Then just knowing better. Your mistakes do not define you now They tell you who you’re not. You’ve got to live this life your given, like its the only you’ve got!
