Under The Lighthouse

I am still in the process of testing a great new software called “phpMotion” that is an open source version of YouTube in many ways.   It was first brought to my attention by another great WPMU site that is launching their own video service and I decided it would be great for the hundreds of videos that I have, let alone my members.    This is one of my first embeds from this site:

Beckham Game Video

I mentioned earlier about being at the game featuring the LA Galaxy and the Vancouver Whitecaps, but wanted to share this video from the game introducing “David Beckham”!

LA Galaxy At Commonwealth

We were lucky enough to get tickets to watch the LA Galaxy, led by David Beckham, take on the Vancouver Whitecaps. The Vancouver team was able to win the game 2-1, but Beckham still managed to get an assist. The weather was far from as cold as it could have been, but it really wasn’t that pleasant with the rain coming in a couple of times during the game. See the photos and videos here!

I remember my days of living in England back in 1998 and 1999 watching David Beckham play in Manchester as well as at Wimbledon. He was really a rising star at that point and I also watched him play (on TV) at the World Cup. His “red card” got some attention, but that really isn’t the point of this post!

With a slow start, Beckham wasn’t really up to what I remembered about him. As the game went on though, his performance improved and he had a few passes that resembled the greatness that I remembered. It was exciting for my 3 year old son to watch the game and he will be sure to tell his friends about it tomorrow
The game was an exhibition match to raise money for local sports agencies and I was happy to do my part by attending the game. As mentioned above, I have several pictures and a few videos on my flickr page.

Grass Season Is On!

I started to bring out grass cattle at the end of March at Dorothy Ranch. Those were the first grass cattle that we put out and were fortunate to have some great big valleys for the cattle to hide in during the spring snow storms that we had. They are all doing great and now are healthy and ready to do the job on the grass as it gets green.

We are also put out the rest of our grass cattle over the past week and into this one! The full grass season is under way and we look forward to a great year! With the increasing temperatures and a couple key rain storms, we should have a great start to the green grass!

Updating My Theme

As a blogger, you have to not only concentrate on the content, but choose a theme that represents both you and that content. I have played around with hundreds of themes over my blogging career and constantly seem to be changing. Finding something unique can be a problem unless you custom write a theme for yourself. While this might have been possible for the more “technical design” bloggers out there, I cannot say that my coding and design skills are enough to do that.

After doing some research and searching across the internet, I came across the Revolution theme from Brian Gardner and really loved the themes. It was an easy choice for me.

While the theme will constantly be customized over the next few days, I have to say this is a nice fit for me and purchasing a Custom Theme was my way of getting paste my coding and design flaws! I hope you like it.
